Board of Directors
A healthy nonprofit board is a peculiar hybrid. Part steward, part compass, part guardrail. It doesn’t run the organization day to day—that’s the staff’s domain—but it ensures the mission stays pointed in the right direction and the engine stays financially sound.
FYI’s Board of Directors provides strategic leadership and governance for the organization. Board members bring diverse professional and community experience and share responsibility for safeguarding the organization’s mission, financial health, and long-term sustainability. Working in partnership with staff, the Board sets strategic direction, oversees accountability and risk, and serves as ambassadors for FYI within the broader community.

FYI’s committees bring together board members and community expertise to support sound governance, financial stewardship, program insight, and strong community relationships. Committees review key issues in greater depth and provide recommendations that help the Board make informed decisions while ensuring FYI remains accountable, well-governed, and connected to the community it serves.
